The service Yandex.Taxi starts to work in Almaty

The signed Memorandum between AO «Almaty Development Centre» and Yandex.Taxi launched the self-titled Russian service. The service Yandex.Taxi allows anyone to find a free car quickly with the Yandex.Taxi app or through the website Taxi.yandex.kz, without a single call to the dispatcher. Both of options are available in Kazakh, Russian and English languages.

At this point, anyone who wants to order a cab via a mobile app or the service’s site, which calculate the price to the destination point in advance. The cost of the trip begins with 100 tenge. It includes two kilometers of path, and each next kilometer will cost 50 tenge. Also, you can make all the calculations for the ride in advance via website or a mobile app. Soon will be available payments by credit card to users.

There are already 150 cars in the service from 9 Almaty cab stations. Urgent orders, are gotten by those drivers who are the closest to the client. This algorithm allows a quick pick up in 5 to 10 minutes. It is possible to see approaching car in the app online. The service sends a driver's phone number and a car’s license plate number are as a text message to the phone.

To monitor the state of vehicles, drivers regularly send photos of the car in different angles, through a special service. If the vehicle is in proper form, it is allowed to enter the line. Users have the opportunity to evaluate the drivers' performance. The taxi-driver rating created in that way affects to the allocation of orders. Orders are first given to drivers with high ratings.

Drivers use the software package Yandex.taxometer by which they can accept orders, determine the cost of ride, use the built-in navigation service with relevant traffic data and track their ratings in the system.

The service Yandex.Taxi was launched in 2011. Besides Almaty, it works in 20 cities of Russia, Belarus and Armenia. In the near future, we will launch in Astana and other cities of neighbouring countries.

Totally Yandex.Taxi has been connected to over 70,000 cars from approximately 600 cab sites and control units.
